The Back Defender

The Back Defender

The only concealed duty belt suspenders for law enforcement available on the market.

The Back Defender™ functions like a regular pair of suspenders, but these are designed to be worn UNDER the shirt. Don't worry, our effective internal suspender system does not require any clothing modifications. The Back Defender™ is currently being used by Law Enforcement Officers in all 50 states, as well as 7 other countries.

Police Officers who have used The Back Defender™ have reported an 82–100% decrease in pain from symptoms caused by their current duty belts. Our suspenders have relieved symptoms such as low back pain, knee pain, foot pain, kidney pressure, headaches, sleep loss, fatigue, hip bruising, and leg numbness/tingling. It also complies with all uniform codes – no one will even know you are wearing one.

The Medical Benefits

Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists and Surgeons throughout the United States and Canada have prescribed The Back Defender™ to their patients.

The duty belt itself is not the problem, it's the everyday wear and tear on the lower back that causes the issues. The weight of the duty belt definitely contributes to low back pain.

The main cause of duty belt pain is the over tightening or cinching of the duty belt, which causes lack of of range of motion, decreased muscle activity, decreased blood and nerve impulse to the lower extremities, and of course micro trauma to the spine and pelvis.

From medical professional standpoints, the best way to rid yourself of “duty belt syndrome” it to loosen your duty belt and evenly distribute the weight on your upper torso and back. Similarly to what our military has been doing for years with the “H” harness.

The Back Defender™ does just that. Helps alleviate the micro-trauma as well as wear and tear on your low back.

We Offer Custom Applications

Law enforcement officers have such a wide range of duties. So, we have come up with solutions to help with most scenarios. We offer custom designed harnesses for many different applications.

– Bike Patrol

– Mounted Patrol

– Motorcycle Patrol

– Detective/Plain Clothes

For bike patrol, mounted patrol, motorcycle patrol and short/skinny we offer a 2" short down members for the front of the harness. These short down members allow officers who are sitting or bent over most of the day to wear the front members on the front of their body, not off to the side like our instructional video shows.

There is a drawback to these members though: there is only 3″ to tuck your shirt into, and officers might have to tailor their shirts to accommodate.

Officers who need their belt keepers to open from the top, and not the bottom, we can easily accommodate you.
